Heritage Site Taxila

Taxila is located in the province of Punjab and is also declared one of the heritage sites by UNESCO. Taxila heritage includes vast sites like Buddhist monasteries, madrassa, and Muslim mosques. Taxila Museum

The museum is home to a significant and comprehensive collection of Gandharan art dating from the 1st to the 7th centuries CE. Most objects in the collection were excavated from the ruins of ancient Taxila. The objects that are presented are of very high value and present the original craftsmanship of Gandhara art. Sher Shah Suri’s Grand Trunk Road traversed India from Attock to Bengal. The garden is famous for 12 door structures, canals, and waterfalls made by Emperor Shah Jahan. Hasan Abdal is famous for cadet college. It has significant importance for Sikh culture because of Gurudwara Panja Sahib. It is one of the three most divine shrines of Sikh belief, the other two being Nankana Sahib in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, and the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India.
